Striking contractor workers that paralyzed Caltex Pacific Indonesia's (CPI) main office operations in Rumbai since Tuesday had dispersed late last night after workers and contractor reached agreement, but strike is still continue in Duri office, a CPI official said Thursday.
"CPI employees in Rumbai main office had get back to work today, but employees in Duri office are still not allowed to get back to work," said company spokesperson Poedyo Utomo.
Thousands of Tripatra employees went on strike on Tuesday by blocking CPI main offices in Duri and Rumbai, forcing CPI declared holiday for its employees. The workers are demanding higher severance pay as Tripatra is going to lay off its employees due to operation downsize.
Poedyo said crude production operation is not interrupted by the strike.
