Struggling coal industry affects IT companies

Slowdown in Indonesian coal industry has negatively affects information, technology and communication companies, such as PT SatNetCom, according SatNetCom's Chief Technical Officer Eko Suwarsono said on Thursday.

SatNetCom provides IT solutions for mining companies to optimize fleet management in order to spur productivity and efficiency. "Our customers are reducing spending on IT services," he told CoalAsia.

Eko confirmed the company's weaker growth trend in the year without elaborating. However, he believes that IT solution for mining is a promising business as miners need an efficient and productive mine management in current weak condition.
