Study confirms feasibility of S. Kalimantan coal upgrading project

Coal upgrading firm White Energy Company Limited reported on Tuesday that pre-production feasibility study work for coal upgrading facility at South Kalimantan coal mine PT.Adaro Indonesia has been completed and confirmed feasibility of the project.
The partners are currently in discussion regarding the next phase of this potential project, the company said.
White will have 51 percent stake in the project with the remainder will be held by Adaro and Japan firm Itochu Corp.
White said in December 2008 that the Adaro Coal Upgrade Project is scheduled for an initial capacity of 1 MTPA and is projected to increase capacity to 5 MTPA by 2012 and eventually to 8 MTPA.
White, together with Kalimantan coal miner Bayan Group is currently commissioning a 1MTAP coal upgrading plant at Bayan?s mine in Tabang, East Kalimantan. (alex)
