Subsidized fuel consumption already running higher than target

Subsidized fuel consumption as of 11 December 2011 has reached 39.23 million kiloliters (KL), or already 2.8 percent above upper limit target set by the government up to that date.

The subsidized fuel consumption for full year is 40.36 million KL or supposed to be 38.15 million KL as of 11 December 2011.

Of the subsidized fuel consumption, 24 million KL is premium-type of fuel, 1.6 million KL kerosene and 13.64 million KL of diesel fuel.

Realized consumption of premium fuel represents 103.6 percent from target, diesel fuel 102.7 percent from target and kerosene 95.1 percent from target.

Among regions that recorded consumption which is higher than quota are Sumatera island, Java island, Central Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi and South Sulawesi.

Pertamina assured that the fuel stock is safe at 3.86 kiloliters, or equal to 20 days of subsidized fuel consumption. (giok)
