The consumption of subsidized gasoline fuel called 'premium' and diesel fuel has run higher than target set by the government in the 2011 State Budget, the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry said.

As of December 22, consumption of the subsidized premium fuel reached 24.82 million kiloliters, 1.3 percent higher than full year target of 24.5 million kiloliters. Consumption of subsidized diesel fuel reached 14.13 million kiloliters, 0.5 percent higher than target of 14.06 million kiloliters set by the government in 2011 State Budget. The number will still rise on expected higher consumption during Christmas and New Year holiday.

The energy ministry did not provide latest figure on subsidized kerosene consumption.

The government had set full year subsidized fuel consumption quota at 40.36 million kiloliters, comprised of the so called premium, diesel and kerosene fuels. (godang/giok)
