The government and the House of Representatives have agreed to fix the quota for the subsidized fuel for the 2007 state budget at 37.9 million kiloliters (kl) or at the same amount as those stated in the revised 2006 budget.
The agreement was made during a working meeting between the ministry of energy and mineral resources and the House's Commission VII in Jakarta on Monday.
The quota for the subsidized fuel for 2007 will include 17 million kl of gasoline, 9.9 million kl of kerosene, 11 million kl of diesel oil. The government's subsidy for the fuel is expected to reach about Rp 68.2 trillion.
The ministry's secretary general Waryono Karyo said that although the volume of the subsidized fuel for 2007 was the same with those stated in the revised 2006 budget, it could be changed when the budget underwent a periodical adjustment. (godang)
