State-owned surveyor and consultancy firm PT Sucofindo said it has recently completed 3D seismic surveys at two oil and gas blocks in South Sumatra.

Heru Riza, Commercial Director at Sucofindo was quoted by Kontan.co.id as saying Wednesday that the company early this month completed 3D seismic surveys at an oil and gas block owned by KSO Pertamina EP-Indrillco Hulu Energy Ltd in Musi Rawas regency, and at a block owned by PT Petroenim in Baturaja. The seismic programs were started respectively in May and April of this year.

As has been previously reported by this portal, Pertamina-EP Indrillco awarded the 3D seismic survey, worth US$2.5 million, to a consortium of Sucofindo and PT Gelombang Seismik Indonesia.

Elsewhere, Heru said Sucofindo is expected to soon complete a 200 square kilometers 2D seismic survey at a block owned by PT Anugerah Mutiara Sentosa.

He added that the company is competing for two new 2D seismic survey projects, but did not provide further details. (*)
