State-owned surveyor and consultancy company PT Sucofindo signed a joint cooperation agreement Wednesday with seismic survey provider PT Gelombang Seismik Indonesia (GSI) to develop and provide seismic survey services.
?Seismic survey in Indonesia has been mostly conducted by foreign companies. The survey results are important data for the state because it provides information on oil and gas reserves and their location,? said Commercial Director of Sucofindo Heru Riza Hakim following the agreement signing ceremony, adding that as a state-wend firm Sucofindo is challenged to develop and provide such services.
He added that the company will first carry out seismic survey in Sumatra over the next three months.
Meanwhile, Sucofindo President Director Bachder said that development of services in the oil and gas sector have become one of the company?s priorities this year. ?Going forward we?ll provide services in the upstream sector, beginning with geoscience services both seismic and non-seismic,? Bachder said.
Meanwhile, GSI Director of Operation, Barita Sihombing said his company has been providing seismic survey services in Indonesia as well as in Africa and Middle East.
