State surveyor firm PT SUCOFINDO (Persero) has signed a cooperation agreement with Japan Quality Assurance Organization to expand testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services and support cross-border trade.
The agreement, signed on Feb. 3, aims to strengthen collaboration in product safety and regulatory compliance, enabling companies in both countries to meet certification requirements more efficiently.
SUCOFINDO President Director Sandry Pasambuna said the partnership would help businesses comply with dual standards for exports to Japan and market entry into Indonesia.
“This collaboration supports companies in meeting regulatory requirements in both markets, making trade more efficient and competitive,” Sandry said in a statement.

JQA Chairman Hiroaki Ishii said the agreement is expected to improve market access and contribute to industrial development in both countries.
The partnership will focus on providing TIC services across sectors including manufacturing, mining, construction and agriculture, as well as supporting verification of supply chains.
Separately, Sandry said SUCOFINDO is expanding its role in biomass certification and verification, including quality testing and supply chain assurance, as demand for sustainable energy solutions grows.
The agreement forms part of SUCOFINDO’s broader effort to expand its international presence and strengthen its position within IDSurvey, a state-owned holding of survey and certification companies.
