State-owned consultancy firm PT Sucofindo has set up a geothermal laboratory in Palembang, South Sumatra, to support exploration activities of the renewable energy source in the country, Bisnis Indonesia reported Tuesday.
The paper quoted Sucofindo Director Sufrin Hanan as saying that the company was attracted to set up the laboratory because of the huge business potential offered by the geothermal sector particularly considering that Indonesia has the second largest geothermal reserves in the world.
The company, he said, will offer analytical service to companies conducting geothermal exploration activities in the country. (*)
