Sugico Group through subsidiary PT Methanindo Energi Resources is repeating the drilling of a CBM well at the Lematang coal bed methane (CBM) block in South Sumatra Province.

Head of Non-Conventional Hydrocarbon Unit at upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, Bhramantyo K. Gunawan told Petromindo.com on Monday that the company was forced to repeat drilling of the CBM well after the series of core barrels in the drilling of the first well were disconnected.

?At the Lematang CBM working area, Sugico was drilling core hole. But the series of core barrels were cut off. They have tried fishing repeatedly but failed. Now (the company) has to repeat the drilling next to the first well (twin well), at LE-02A well,? he said.

As reported earlier, Methanindo now owns 100 percent of Lematang CBM block after PT Medco CBM Lematang and PT Saka Energi Indonesia divested their entire interests in the block late last year.
