Sugih Energy ups production capacity of Selat Panjang

IDX-listed PT Sugih Energy Tbk announced on Wednesday that the BA-7 development well in Selat Panjang PSC onshore Riau, operated by its unit Petroselat Ltd is capable of producing 660 barrels of oil per day (bopd).

The well has thus brought the production capacity of the block to 750 bopd, the firm said in a statement.

Drilling at the BA-7 well started on March 31, 2014, the firm said in a statement on April 4. In the statement, the firm said the well would be drilled to the depth of 2,500 meters TVD, targeting Lower Marine Sihapas, Non-Marine Sihapas and Upper Pematang zones. Drilling was expected to be completed in 8 weeks, the company then said.

The drilling will be followed by drilling of two more development wells, namely BA-8 and BA-9 in the first half of the year.
