Sukrisno named new PTBA CEO

Former operations director Sukrisno was elected new president and CEO of state coal mining firm PT. Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA), filling the vacant position that was left by former CEO Ismet Harmaini.

Sukrisno was elected in extraordinary shareholders? meeting held in Jakarta Wednesday.

Along with him, Dono Boestami, Tiendas Mangeka, Milawarma, Heri Supriyanto and Mahbub Iskandar were elected CFO, Commercial Director, Operations Director, Business Development Director and Human Resources Director, respectively.

Prior to his appointment, CFO Boestami is an executive with Citigroup Securities. Mangeka is Business Development Director of cement plant PT.Semen Tonasa. Milawarma is Corporate Secretary of PTBA and Supriyanto is formerly the company?s senior logistics manager. Mahbub Iskandar retained position as HR Director.

The company?s board of directors had been vacant for several months and the executive jobs were carried out by board of commissioners due to ministry of state owned enterprises? inability to pick successors.

Sukrisno told reporters that one of its main priorities is to increase the company?s coal production and to carry on projects such as development of coal-fired power plants.

PTBA is one of the country?s top coal miners with production of 10MT annually from its South Sumatra mine. (godang)
