IDX-listed PT Sumalindo Jaya Lestari Tbk plans to nearly triple the capacity of its coal-fired power plant operation to a combined 60 MW in East Kalimantan to meet rising demand, Bisnis Indonesia daily reported Friday.
The company currently has two plants in Samarinda and in Tenggarong, each with a capacity of 17.5 MW and 15 MW.
?Electricity demand in East Kalimantan is still huge. This is a good business opportunity,? said Sumalindo Director Rudy Gunawan, while adding that the company?s power business is run by subsidiary PT Kalimantan Powerindo. (*)
