ASX-listed Sumatra Copper & Gold plc announced Tuesday that David Fowler has been appointed as the definitive Managing Director of the company effective immediately.

Fowler has been Acting-CEO since December 15, 2014, replacing Julian Ford who retired after assuming the post since June 2011. Prior to that, Fowler had been chief financial officer of the company since July 2013.

The company said in a statement that Fowler has already made a significant contribution to the company, managing the financing of the Tembang Gold-Silver Project in Sumatra, Indonesia, and overseeing construction activities at the project over the past 4 months, as well as planning and implementing the operational changes required to move from explorer/developer to producer.
