Sumatra Copper appoints new non-executive director

ASX-listed Sumatra Copper & Gold plc announced on Thursday the appointment of Andy Robb as a Non-Executive Director of the company.

Sumatra Copper said in a statement that Robb is a mining engineer with significant international experience and a proven track record in mining operations for companies such as WMC Resources/BHP Billiton (Group Manager of Technical Services), Placer Dome (Mine Manager of the Kanowna Belle Gold Mine), MIM Holdings and Mount Isa Mines.

The statement said Robb recently returned from a three-year assignment in Argentina as Project Director/VP South America for the Enirgi Group. As a former Principal Mining Engineer at AMC Consultants in both London and Perth, Robb has a breadth of knowledge across all aspects of project development, project execution and operations, the company said.

Sumatra Copper operates the Tembang gold and silver mine in South Sumatra.
