Sumatra Copper: Tembang gold-silver project plant commissioning commences ahead of schedule

ASX-listed Sumatra Copper & Gold plc said that commissioning of the carbon-in-leach (CIL) process plant has commenced ahead of schedule at the company?s 100%-owned Tembang gold-silver project located in Sumatra.

The company said that power station at the CIL plant is operational, two of three motor control centers have been energized and the crushing circuit has been operated without ore. Ground support is currently being installed above the portal access at the flagship Belinau underground mine with decline commencement on schedule for early August 2015. Open pit ore is already being delivered to the run-of-mine (ROM) pad at the CIL plant in preparation for wet commissioning.

?The overall project currently is ahead of schedule and the company expects to commence pouring gold during the first half of the fourth quarter of 2015,? Sumatra Copper said in an update report Wednesday.

Following are recent key developments of the project

Operations
? Dewatering of the Belinau open pit is 90% complete. The pumps will be relocated to the Berenai open pit to commence dewatering duringAugust2015
? Installation of ground support has commenced above the portal location for the Belinau underground mine and decline development is on track to start in early August 2015.
? Open pit mining at Berenai has commenced with ore currently being delivered to the ROM pad.
? The temporary tailings storage facility (TSF) has been completed and land clearing will commence in August 2015 in preparation for construction of the main TSF.
? Construction of the mining workshop and mining office is complete.
? The illegal action that was blocking road access to the site, as reported on ASX on July 15, 2015, has ceased and traffic is operating normally. The Company will continue to work closely with the local community to maximise employment and other regional business opportunities. Already the Company has trained and employed over 160 workers from the local community.

CIL Plant & Infrastructure
? Concrete works, steel fabrication and installation have been completed.
? Mechanical equipment installation is complete and SAG mill liners have been installed.
? Electrical and instrumentation installation is 86% complete.
? The power station is operational and two of the three Motor Control Centres (MCC) on the plant have been energized.
? SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) is operational and the control system is being commissioned.
? 52 drives have been direction tested and checked from the SCADA system.
? The complete crushing circuit has been run without ore.
? The third and final MCC is expected to be energized on the 30th of July.
