Sumatra-Java gas pipeline to be fully operated in August: PGN

State-owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) said that it was optimistic that the company's industrial customers in Banten and West Java would be able to get additional gas supply of between 170 and 232 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) from the South Sumatra-West Java (SSWJ) gas pipeline beginning August, this year

 

PGN President director Sutikno said in a statement Thursday that the construction of the pipelines both from Grissik gas field and from Pagardewa gas field in South Sumatra would be completed by the end of July.

 

"It will take between five and ten days for the gas supply to reach customers. Meanwhile, the construction of Labuhan Maringgai-Muara Bekasi  gas pipeline will definitely be completed and be ready to channel gas supply by the end of July 2007," Sutikno said .

 

He also hoped that President Bambang Susilo Yudhoyono would be able to officially inaugurate the gas pipeline between August 6 and 12. (godang)
