Sumatra upstream and coal mining ops unaffected by earthquake

Oil, gas and mining production facilities in Sumatra were not affected by major earthquake that hit West Sumatra on Wednesday.

BPMIGAS Spokesperson Sulistya Hastuti said on Thursday that Sumatra oil, gas production operations including Chevron?s Central Sumatra oil fields, ConocoPhillips? South Sumatra and Natuna Sea oil, gas fields and ExxoMObil?s Arun gas fields were not affected by the earthquake. ?Upstream operations in Sumatra run normally,? he said.

Meanwhile, state coal mining operations PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam said its coal mining operations in South Sumatra were running normally. (godang)
