IDX-listed mining consultancy services company PT Sumber Energi Andalan Tbk is planning to enter the power plant business amid massive opportunities provided under the 2016-2025 electricity procurement business plan of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.

Sumber Energi President Director Vincent Nangoi was quoted by Kontan as saying on Monday that to be able to participate in the power plant business, the company must be able to meet the requirements set by PLN.

?We?re in the process to enter the electricity (business), it could be biomass (power plant) or others, but for now there?s no update yet. The eggs have yet to be broken, and we?re still looking for opportunities,? he told the paper, adding that the company is still in process of conducting feasibility study in relation to power plants tender held by PLN.

He said in that in the meantime, the company will focus on its core business, which is mining services consultancy. ?Our clients are both domestic and overseas. We?ll have new contracts, but we could not yet disclose it,? he said. (*)
