The coal mining operation of PT Sumber Kurnia Buana (SKB), which holds the third generation PKP2B coal contract of work in South Kalimantan, is nearing the stage of ?mine-out,? as it is expected to be only 2-3 years left, according to a source to Petromindo.com.
?Current production is only about 40,000-60,000 tons per month. The mine is near mine-out because it has been mined for the past 20 years,? the source said.
SKB produces high CV coal, but with high sulphur content (1.5-1.7%).
SKB is a unit of the Baramulti Group, but is not included in the coal assets listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange under PT Baramulti Suksessarana Tbk (BSSR).
