Sumberdaya to build mini hydro power plants

PT Sumberdaya Sewatama, a subsidiary of PT ABM Investama Tbk (ABMM), will develop mini hydro-power plants with a total generation capacity of 50 megawatt (MW) during the next five years.

?Two of the mini hydro power plants will start construction next year,? said Erinto Pardede, the investor relations manager of ABMM, as reported by Kontan on Wednesday.

He said that the investment needed for the development is big enough, about US$2 million per MW. Sewatama will need a total investment of US$ 100 million to finance the project.

Sewatama has also planned to develop coal-fired power plants. To realize it, it has acquired 70 percent share ownership of PT Energi Alamraya Semesta (EAS), which is coal fired power producer (CFPP) in Aceh.

PT ABM Investama tbk also said that it will increase its capital expenditure (capex) in 2013 to a range of US$ 275 and US$300 million, as compared to US$ 252 million last year. (*)
