Japanese firm Sumitomo Corp and state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) have reached agreement on most aspects, including power price, in their negotiation on the planned expansion of the Tanjung Jati B coal fired power plant in Central Java.
?The negotiations have been 90 percent completed,? Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources J. Purwono said on Thursday, without providing details.
Sumitomo plans to double the capacity of Tanjung Jati B to 2,640 MW from 1,320 MW at present at a cost of $1.3 billion.
The new units are expected to be completed in the second half of 2010. The power plant started operation in October last year. (Alex)
