Sumsel-5 project starts construction

IDX-listed PT Dian Swastika Sentosa announced on Friday that its subsidiary PT DSSP Power Sumsel has commenced the construction of 2x150 MW Sumsel-5 mine mouth power plant in Bayung Lencir, Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra.

The groungbreaking ceremony was held on May 23, the company said in a statement.

Previously, on November 3, 2011, DSSP and state utility firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara have signed a power purchase agreement, under which DSSP will supply electricity using the build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) scheme for 25 years.

The Sumsel-5 project is scheduled for commercial operation starting 2015.
