IDX listed energy company PT Golden Energy Mines, Tbk (GEM), a subsidiary of the Sinar Mas Group, stated its coal-fired power plant project, PLTU Sumsel 5, with capacity of 2x150 MW has been onstream since April 2016. However, the firm is still unable to operate it at full capacity due to transmission problem.
Investor Relations Manager Bindra Setya Utama told Petromindo.com on the sidelines of the Sixth IPP Conference recently held by Petromindo that the buyer, state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) at present can only absorb 200 MW of the total capacity of 300 MW.
?There is still problem with the transmission line,? he said but did not specify the problem.
The project is located in Bayung Lencir, Musi Banyuasin regency, South Sumatera province and is developed by PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk, another other Sinar Mas company.
