Sunpec eyeing oil, gas and coal investment in Indonesia

Sino Union Petroleum & Chemical International Limited (SUNPEC), a Chinese company listed on the main board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange is eyeing energy investment in Indonesia, a government official said on Friday.

Ministry of Energy and mineral Resources Expert Staff Kardaya Warnika told reporters that the company is eyeing upstream investment in Indonesia through interest acquisition or participating in exploration blocks bidding. ?SUNPEC has initiated talks with Pertamina for upstream cooperation, ?he said.

The company is also eyeing to acquire coal mines in Indonesia, he said.

The company?s Chairman Hui Chi Ming paid a courtesy visit to Minister of Energy and Mienral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro on Friday. (bernard)
