East Kalimantan-based coal mining company PT Supra Bara Energi (SBE) is currently finalizing a five-year contract with an India-based major trading company for coal supply of 300,000 tons per year to India, an industry source said Wednesday.

?First coal shipment is scheduled in March 2006,? the source told Petromido.Com, adding that coal to be supplied is specified at 5,800 kcal/kg ADB (air dried basis).

SBE holds a 2,403-hectare coal mining concession in Sambaliung district of Berau regency, East Kalimantan province.

SBE is a subsidiary of PT Sumber Mitra Jaya, an Indonesian top mining contractor with its major clients including coal mining firm PT Kideco Jaya Agung and state-owned coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam. (Robert)
