Supreme completes 1st drilling at Muara Laboh geothermal project

PT Supreme Energy Muara Laboh (SEML) has completed the drilling of its first exploration well at Muara Laboh geothermal project in Liki Pinangawan, Solok regency of West Sumatra province.

A short-term test of the first well has been performed from December 13 to December 15, 2012. The result of the test has confirmed the existence of a geothermal system, the company said in a press statement on Friday.

The well, drilled to 1,550 MMD (meter measured depth), can be categorized as a very large well, with an estimate of more than 20 MW power capacities.

A long-term test will be performed on the well, to further confirm the reservoir conditions and the well productivity.

With this first well SEML started the exploration drilling program at Liki Pinangawan. The Company expects to complete exploration drilling in 2013 and start power plant construction in 2014.

The target is to produce sufficient amount of steam to supply a 220 MW power plant.

PT Supreme Energy Muara Laboh (SEML) is a company owned by PT Supreme Energy, GDF SUEZ and Sumitomo Corporation. Power Purchase Agreement between SEML and PT PLN (Persero) was signed on March 2, 2012.
