PT Supreme Energy has allocated working capital worth US$180 million this year to finance the development of its three geothermal power projects including Muara Laboh in West Sumatra, Rantau Dadap in South Sumatra, and Rajabasa in Lampung, Kotan daily reported on Thursday.

Total capacity of the three power plants is 220 MW. However, the three geothermal working areas have yet to start operation as they are still at the stage of exploration.

Nisriyanto, Vice President for Business Strategy and Development at Supreme Energy, was quoted as saying that the Muara Laboh project is expected to be the first to begin operation as exploration work is near completion.

For the Rantau Dadap geothermal working area, the company has just started drilling program for eight wells, while the Rajabasa remains stagnant as the company has yet to obtain the necessary forest use and borrow permit from the Ministry of Forestry. (*)
