Indonesia?s Supreme Energy said in a statement that it is not linked to UK-registered Supreme Energy, a unit of Global Energy Resources (GER).

The company made the clarification statement, obtained Sunday, as Supreme Energy has often been reported as part of GER in various discussions about mafia-like practices in the country?s oil and gas trading.

Supreme Energy said that the company, set up by Supramu Santosa in 2007 and registered in Indonesia, has not been engaged in oil and gas trading activities.

The company said it has three subsidiaries all engaged geothermal development projects including PT Supreme Energy Muara Laboh (which holds the geothermal IUP mining business permit for the Muaralaboh geothermal working area in South Solok Regency, West Sumatra), PT Supreme Energy Rajabasa (IPU holder for the Rajabasa geothermal working area in South Lampung Regency, Lampung), and PT Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap (which holds the IUP permit for the Rantau Dedap geothermal working area in Muara Enim, Lahat, and Pagar Alam in South Sumatra).
