The Suralaya power plant in Banten has resumed electricity supplies to the Java-Bali power grid on Tuesday, an official of state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negera (PLN) said on Wednesday.
"Six of the seven units at the power plant, that is Unit 2,3,4,5,6,7 have resumed supplies to the power grid. One unit, that is Unit 1, is still in the normalizing process. We hope the power plant resume full operation at 1 p.m.," Suralaya's General Manager Sudarminto said.
On Tuesday, blackout hits several areas in Jakarta and surrounding cities after PLN unplugged the giant Suralaya power plant complex from the Java-Bali power grid.
The coal-fired Suralaya power plant has seven units with a combined capacity of 3,400 MW.
?There is a trouble at the Gandul transmission station in Depok, West Java. That?s why we unplugged the power plant,? Sudirmanto said on Tuesday. (Godang)
