Suralaya shuts down 2 units

PT. Indonesia Power, a unit of   state electricity firm PLN which runs the Suralaya 3,400-MWcoal-fired power plant said on Friday it two of its units had been shut down due to trouble and maintenance but expect the power plant to operate at full capacity late next month.
Indonesia Power president Abimanyu told Petromindo.com that unit-2 power plant with capacity of 400MW had been broken due to leakage in its boiler. The repair, he said, would be completed on March 21. Another unit which has 600-MW capacity was shut due on scheduled maintenance. The unit will resume operation late April, he said.
Indonesia Power has six units of power plants, three of which have capacity of 400MW each and another thee with 600MW capacity each.
Suralaya consumes some 10 million tons of coal annually. (godang)
