Suralaya to open 2nd spot coal tender April

PLN?s subsidiary PT. Indonesia Power will open second spot tender early next month to procure 500,000 tonnes of coal for its Suralaya 3,400-MW power plant, a company official said.
Suralaya General Manager Bambang Susianto said the coal tender would be for this year?s delivery. Bambang said the coal Suralaya would procure would have calorific value of around 5,100 Kcal/kg.
He said the first spot tender that was opened earlier this year had drawn 26 bidders, including East Kalimantan coal miners Kideco Jaya Agung and Berau Coal. ?Aside from the two companies, other participants are small miners or traders,? he said, adding that currently the bidding team is currently conduct mining inspection.(godang)
