Suralaya unit 5 goes down on transformer damage

State electricity firm PLN said one of the seven units of Suralaya power plants in Banten province went down after the unit transformer was damaged.
PLN Director Ali Herman Ibrahim said the 600-MW Suralaya unit 5 may not be operated until next year as the transformer repair may take up to 12 months.
Suralaya coal-fired power plant is operated by PLN’s wholly-owned subsidiary PT.Indonesia Power. Suralaya has 7 units of plants which consists of four 400-MW units and three 600-MW units. (godang)
