Integrated digital infrastructure firm  PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (SURGE) (IDX: WIFI) and Wuhan FiberHome International Technologies Co. have expanded their strategic partnership to accelerate the development of telecommunications infrastructure and digital connectivity in Indonesia.

The enhanced partnership agreement was signed during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Shanghai and broadens the companies' collaboration beyond their existing relationship to include the deployment of broadband, optical transmission and future communications technologies.

The expanded cooperation covers the development of up to 3,000 fixed wireless access (FWA) sites and up to 1.6 million FWA customer premises equipment units, as well as national backbone and metro optical networks using dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM), multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) and outside plant infrastructure.

The partners also plan to develop up to 300,000 fiber to the home (FTTH) connections, deploy passive optical network equipment, collaborate on centralized solar photovoltaic power projects and explore future railway mobile communication systems.

SURGE Director Shannedy Ong said the partnership would support the company's strategy of expanding affordable digital connectivity across Indonesia.

FiberHome Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Jason Lin said Indonesia has the potential to become one of the region's largest digital economies and that the partnership would support the deployment of resilient communications infrastructure.

SURGE develops fiber optic infrastructure and fixed broadband services in Indonesia through fiber to the home and 5G fixed wireless access technologies, while FiberHome is a global supplier of optical communications, wireless network and data communications equipment.
