Surveyors to verify local content in oil, gas, power sectors

Surveyor companies PT Sucofindo and PT Surveyor Indonesia have been appointed by the Ministry of Industry to help in verifying the use of locally-made goods particularly in upstream oil and gas, power, and health sectors.

Ferry Yahya, an expert staff for the minister of industry, said Thursday that the use of local contents in the three sectors remain low.

He said that the government wants to push for an increase in the use of local goods in a bid to help accelerate the development of industries and the economy.

He added that the two surveyor companies will also be engaged in mapping out which of the local goods can be supplied to the aforementioned sectors, and which can?t. (*)
