Surya Dumai switches business to coal, palm oil

JSX-listed troubled timber firm PT Surya Dumai Industry Tbk plans to shift to palm oil plantation or coal mining business following the total termination of the corporate timbering activities, the company reported on Friday
The company?s President Director, Ginanjar Irawan said a report filed with the JSX that the company prepares to release inactive subsidiaries and participating interest of other parties.
?Since prospects for forestry industry are no longer promising in Riau, Surya Dumai plans to diversify its business to palm oil plantation or coal business in Kalimantan,? he said, without giving further detail. (denny)
