Syres hopes PPA for N. Sulawesi mini hydro projects early next year

Independent power producer PT Syres Power Energy, through subsidiary, PT Totabuan Energi plans to develop PLTMH Tobabuan 1 and PLTMH Tobabuan 2 mini hydro power plants with combined capacity of 7.5 MW in North Sulawesi. The power plants are targeted to start operation in 2020.
Syres Power Director of Operation, San Akri told Petromindo.com on Thursday the company is currently still in negotiation with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN over the electricity tariff and other aspects, and hopes to sign the power purchase agreement (PPA) in early 2018, paving the way to start construction process.
?We?re currently in negotiation process with PLN. We expect the PPA can be signed early next year, San said.
He said that construction process is expected to take about 30 months to complete. ?The plan is to develop six units, two each with capacity of 2.5 MW, and four each with capacity of 0.7 MW. For the technology, we?ll import it from Europe,? he said, adding that total investment is estimated at around Rp 270 billion.
