Tabalong asks Adaro to help rebuild bridge

Tuesday, July 24 2001 - 03:07 AM WIB

The people of Tabalong Regency in South Kalimantan have asked coal mining company PT Adaro Indonesia and the state-owned oil and gas company to provide financing to rebuild a local bridge, according to a senior official.

Head of the Tabalong development planning agency (Bappeda) Anang Syakhfiani was quoted by the Banjarmasin Post daily as saying that Adaro and many other companies have also used the bridge, which was ruined a couple of months ago.

?The people ask the two companies (Adaro and Pertamina) to make contribution outside the tax and retribution fee (they have paid), because they also use the bridge,? Anang said.

He said that the local administration would soon submit a proposal to the legislative council to amend the current budget.(*)
