TAIWAN POWER COMPANY intends to procure the following commodity through open tender. The firms including foreign coal mine owners, foreign coal mine operators, foreign and local agents and trading companies, if interested in this tender, may obtain from this company the bidding documents and submit their bids to this company on or before the time as specified hereunder.

(1) The above 945,000 Metric Tons of thermal coal shall be procured by fifteen (15) lots, each lot may be performed by either 1 panamax size vessel or 2 handy size vessels.
(2) Panamax Size vessel: 63,000 Metric Tons plus/minus 10%. Handy size vessel : 25,000 -45,000 Metric Tons plus/minus 10%
(3) Offeror may offer one or more than one lot.
(4) Bid bond : US$63,000 or NT$2,142,000 per lot .
(5) Delivery period: December 2003 through February 2004.
(6) Minimal requirements of quality specifications:
Gross Calorific Value (A/R*1) 5,000 Kcal/Kg min.,
Total Moisture (A/R) 28% max.,
Ash Content (A/D*1) 15% max.,
Sulfur Content (A/D) 1.1% max.,
Volatile Matter (A/D) 28% min.,
Fixed Carbon (A/D) 60% max.,
Grindability (H.G.I.) 42 min.,
Ash Fusion Temperature (under reducing condition, H=W) 1,150 oC min.,
Size 50 x 0 mm, Size above 50 mm 5% max., Size Fines under 2 mm 30% max.,
Na2O in Ash 2% max.*2
*1. A/R means As Received Basis, A/D means Air Dried Basis.
*2. If both (a) CaO+MgO>Fe2O3 and (b) CaO+MgO+Fe2O3>20% are met, then Na2O in Ash can be raised to 5.0% max.
