Taipower retenders for 1.75 million tons of bituminous coal

TAIWAN POWER COMPANY intends to procure the following commodity through open tender. The firms including foreign coal mine owners, foreign coal producers, foreign and local agents and trading companies, if interested in this tender, may obtain from this company the bidding documents and submit their bids to this company on or before the time as specified hereunder.

(1) The above 1,750,000 Metric Tons of bituminous coal shall be shipped by twenty-five (25) Panamax Size vessels.
(2) Panamax Size vessel: 70,000 Metric Tons plus/minus 10%.
(3) Offeror may offer one or more than one shipment.
(4) Bid bond: US$70,000 or NT$2,275,000 per shipment.
(5) Delivery period: December 2006 through April 2007.
(6) Minimal requirements of quality specifications:
Gross Calorific Value (A/R*1) 5,500 Kcal/Kg min.
Total Moisture (A/R) 15% max.*2.
Ash Content (A/D*1) 15% max.
Sulfur Content (A/D) 1.1% max.
Volatile Matter (A/D) 28% min.
Fixed Carbon (A/D) 60% max.
Grindability (H.G.I.) 42 min. (no more than 7 shipments) or 45 min. (Please refer to the bidding documents for more details),
Ash Fusion Temperature (under reducing condition, H=W) 1,150 min.,
Size 50 x 0 mm, Size above 50 mm 5% max., Size Fines under 2 mm 30%max.,
Na2O in Ash 2% max.*3
*1.A/R means As Received Basis, A/D means Air Dried Basis.
*2. Total Moisture can be raised to 22% max., if Ash Content is less than 10%
*3.If both(a) CaO+MgO>Fe2O3 and(b) CaO+MgO+Fe2O3>20% are met, then Na2O in Ash can be raised to 5.0% max.
