Taiwan?s Formosa Group to build $3 billion power plant in Central Java

Taiwan?s Formosa International Group will build a $3 billion coal-fired power plant in Central Java, the Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.

At least three locations are being selected for the planned 3,000 megawatts (MW) power plant.

?The Central Java administration has already facilitated the Taiwanese investor?s interest in building a coal-fired power plant,? Central Java Deputy Governor Ali Mufiz in Semarang said over the weekend.

?The power plant project in Central Java will be built by the Taiwanese investor in 2009,? Ali Mufiz said. (*)
