Takafuji acquires stake in Prima Khatulistiwa Sinergi

Japanese renewable energy firm Takafuji Co., Ltd., has completed the acquisition of a portion of shares in PT Prima Khatulistiwa Sinergi (PKS) through its foreign investment subsidiary, PT Zapin Agro Internasional. The share purchase agreement was signed in Jakarta on November 14, 2025.

The company did not disclose the percentage of shares it acquired.

Prior to the transaction, PKS was owned by three individual shareholders. Following the acquisition, Takafuji became part of the shareholding structure to support PKS’s business activities in renewable energy development in Indonesia.

PKS Director Alexander said the company operates in biomass and solar power development and continues to expand domestic biomass supply for PLN-owned and private power plants, as well as exports to several Asian countries, including Japan. PKS also develops rooftop solar systems for both on-grid and off-grid applications.

Takafuji operates a 22 MW biomass power plant in Oita, Japan, using palm kernel shells sourced from Indonesia. Through PT Zapin Agro Internasional, the company maintains biomass stockpiles in Riau, Bengkulu, and Bangka Belitung and exports to Japan and other Asian markets.

PKS is headquartered in Pekanbaru, Riau, and engages in renewable energy activities in biomass and solar power.
