Talaud Island regency demands more fuel quota

Regency Head of Talaud Island Regency, Elly Engelbert Lasut, and Deputy Regency Head Moktar Arunde Parapaga visited the office of the downstream oil and gas authority BPH Migas on Monday (15/06). The Regency government demands BPH Migas to allocate more subsidized fuel quota and expand the network of a one-price fuel scheme in the regency.
The Talaud Island delegates met with a committee member of BPH Migas, Henry Ahmad. Elly Lasut explained the fuel distribution issues in the Talaud Island, North Sulawesi, including a shortage of subsidized fuel that hampers people's economic activities.

Elly Lasut also questioned the quality of fuel distributed in the region. Therefore, the Talaud Island regency proposed a plan to build fuel storage in Talaud as well as add the number of fuel distributors in the region.
Henry said tight supervision by all stakeholders is very important to assure the fuel distribution is carried out properly and there is no irregularities that can harm the community.
