Talisman Energy reports higher output in Q2

Canadian oil and gas firm Talisman Energy Inc reported on Thursday a 117 percent increase in its Indonesian oil and liquids production in the second quarter of 2006, compared to the same period of last year, partly due to the acquisition of interests in the SE Sumatra and Offshore NW Java blocks in late 2005.

Talisman said its Indonesian gas output increased 15 percent in the second quarter of the year, averaging 204 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD), with higher sales from Corridor block in South Sumatra to Singapore Power and an additional output from the Offshore NW Java block.

Talisman said it expected its gas sales volume would ramp up to approximately 300 MMCFD thanks to the expansion of the Corridor gas plant at Suban and the operation of the new pipeline linking Southern Sumatra to Western Java.

According to Talisman, the Corridor gas facilities expansion project continues to make good progress, with an in-service porgram scheduled by the end of 2006. First gas deliveries through the new pipeline are expected to flow in the first quarter of 2007.

Elsewhere, the company said, a full-scale waterflood facility has been initiated in the Ogan Komering block of South Sumatra and is expected to be completed later this year. (Robert)
