Canadian firm Talisman Energy Inc. reported a slight decline in production in the third quarter from the same period in 2011, but output throughout the January-September period rose by 5 percent from a year earlier.

Third quarter?s production stood at 78,000 boepd, from 79,000 boepd recorded in the same period last year, Talisman said in a statement.

During the first nine months of the year however, production averaged 79,000 boepd as against 76,000 boepd a year earlier.

The statement said the increased production was due mainly to the ramp up at Jambi Merang block and increased volumes from Corridor block. Talisman has a 36 percent interest in the ConocoPhillips-operated Corridor, a 25 percent interest in Jambi Merang and a 3.06 percent interest in Tangguh.
