Talisman seeks partners to develop Andaman III block

Canadian firm Talisman Energy is willing to divest more than 49 percent of its interest in the Andaman III block, offshore North Sumatra, as its seeks partners to develop the block, according to a source.

The source told Petromindo.com Monday that the company has made request to the upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas to open up the data roon on the Andaman III exploration block.

The source, however, added that Talisman is also looking for an opportunity to acquire new producing oil and gas asset.

Talisman was awarded the production sharing contract for the Andaman III block in 2009, holding 100 percent interest. The Andaman III block covers an area of 8,440 square kilometres and is situated in water depths of 1,300 metres.
