Talisman sees Indonesian oil production down, gas production up in 2002

Canada?s largest independent oil and gas firm Talisman Energy on Monday announced that it expected oil production from its Indonesian operation would go down from an estimated daily production of 19,000 barrels per day (BPD) in 2001 to between 15,000 - 17,000 BPD in 2002, while gas production would go up from an estimated 93 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) to 95-100 MMCFD.

In 2000, Talisman produced an average of 20,000 BPD of crude and 111 MMCFD of gas.

Talisman also said that its Indonesian spending is expected to be around C $90 million, slightly increased from an estimated 2001 spending of $85 million with the focus on developing facilities and reserves to meet gas contract commitments.

Talisman operates Madura PSC, in East Java, Ogan Komering PSC in South Sumatra, Tanjung EOR in South Kalimantan and Jambi EOR in Jambi. Talisman also has 36 percent working interest in Corridor Block PSC operated by Gulf Indonesia Resources, which supplies gas to Caltex?s oil production facilities in Riau and to Singapore starting mid-2003.
