Talks on unitization of Tiung Biru, Jambaran fields still underway

PT Pertamina EP, an upstream arm of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina, is still in talks with Mobil Cepu Ltd, the operator of the Cepu block in East Java and Central Java over unitization of oil and gas reserves of the Tiung Biru and Jambaran fields, Pertamina EP President Director, Syamsu Alam said.

Tiung Biru field is located within Pertamina EP?s Cepu operations area which is adjacent to the Cepu giant oil and gas block jointly operated by Exxon Mobil Corp unit Mobil Cepu Limited (MCL) and Pertamina. The Jambaran gas field is located within the Cepu Block, which is operated by MCL.

?The drilling of delineation well in Tiung Biru field is underway to confirm oil and gas reserves with possible upgrade to become development well,? Pertamina EP President Director, Syamsu Alam told Petromindo.com.

Syamsu said earlier that the Tiung Biru field will be producing 250 BPD of oil in the first quarter of 2012 from one well and will be increased gradually to 1,000 BPD from three wells.

Pertamina EP Cepu has been appointed as operator of the Tiung Biru and Jambaran oil and gas fields. The integration of the two fields is expected to make their development be more efficient. (godang)
