Tambak Lorok power plant stops operation

Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has started shutting down the Tambak Lorok power plant in Semarang, Central Java.

The power plant, which had so far used diesel oil as the fuel, is being shut down following the operation of coal fired power plants in the province namely PLTU Rembang and PLTU Tanjung Jati Expansion, said the Ministry?s Director General of Electricity Jarman.

Jarman added that Tambak Lorok will be revived again if gas supply from Kepodang field in Muriah PSC, which is located some 200 km off the northern coast of the province and operated by Petronas Caligari, begins to flow in 2014.
